BootStrappingBlog.com site originator and previous owner Mike Smith did a wonderful job building up a very useful database of information and resources for start-up and growing businesses. That’s exactly why I targeted this site. Our economy is suffering terribly right now, and there’s never been a greater need for capitalism to step up and for business owners to control their own destiny. With my experience and care and the help of some of my friends who are experts in their respective fields, I will continue Smith’s determination and build off of that, adding exponentially more value, empowering the bootstrapped businessperson to their full potential.
The fun part is I don’t consider this work. I get a real kick out of helping people step up to challenges they never thought they had the skills for, or the money for. You see, I’m forever grateful to all those who’ve helped me get to where I am now—not only did they make it easier…they made it possible! Just because we’d all like to expand our businesses’ bottom lines doesn’t mean we can’t lend each other a helping hand—people first, business second.

You make a great point about people needing to step up and take charge. But you only not many will do, they will instead make excuses and expect others to do shit for them.
But let’s distinguish the difference between helping someone and doing shit for them. Too many people think that businesses or whoever will do a great job for them. Well they may but it is your responsibility to monitor that.

Thanks for the post and I do agree with a lot of what you are saying. I can give ideas, give people a nudge in a certain direction but I can’t make anyone do anything, no one can.
I have been a member of OneCoach for a couple years which was started by John Assaraf (from the Secret) and Murray Smith. John often tells a story about the problem with “The Secret” that he and the other teachers always have to deal with. ” I have been meditating for weeks straight and the universe has not given me anything”.
Unfortunately if you sit and meditate all day and never get off your ass and take action eventually your house will be taken away from around you and all you will have left is your meditation.
